From small beginnings
Started in Canberra in the early 1980’s by a single plumber who wanted to create a recognisable brand, The Plumbing Doctor was as a small business with big plans to expand. The business began to evolve and became a national brand through the means of franchising. Regions included Canberra, Wollongong, the Gold Coast and Newcastle.
During its early period of expansion The Plumbing Doctor took on many apprentices and in the mid 1990’s one of these apprentices was a gentleman by the name of Joe Evers. Under the guidance of experienced plumbers at The Plumbing Doctor, Joe went on to become a very successful and respected plumber in the Canberra region. While Joe furthered his plumbing experience in other parts of Australia The Plumbing Doctor brand continued to operate under new ownership in the Canberra region.
When the opportunity arose in the early 2000’s for Joe to acquire The Plumbing Doctor brand in the Newcastle region he jumped at the chance. From a small business in Newcastle of only two employees Joe grew the business to 10 employees before another chance arose, this time to take over the business in Canberra where it all began. At around the same time the company re-branded when they expanded to include the electrical trade which brought about the name change to The Plumbing & Electrical Doctor.
The business now employs over 40 staff in Newcastle, the Central Coast and Canberra and proudly continues to deliver on the same great values as the company that started it all over 30 years ago.

The Central Coast is a peri-urban region in the Australian state of New South Wales, located on the Tasman Sea coast north of Sydney and south of Lake Macquarie. It is charming with gorgeous beaches, magnificent national parks and pretty waterways
As of year 2017, growing at 1% per annum, The Central Coast has an estimated population of 337,765 making it the third largest urban area in the New South Wales with Sydney being the largest and the ninth largest urban area in Australia.
The Central Coast Council area is located on the coast of New South Wales, between 60 and 90 kilometres north of the Sydney , and about 80 kilometres south of the Newcastle the region is a network of towns that have been linked in recent years by expanding suburban development. The main urban cluster of the region surrounds the northern shore of Brisbane Water and includes the Coast's largest population centre, Gosford, stretching east to the retail centre of Erina
Aboriginal people has been inhabiting the region for a thousand years. Some of the first Aboriginal people to come in contact with the British settlers were the local Gurangai and Darkinjung people.
